RF-TP™ Overview

This true client-server TCP/IP product offers a high performance, alternative to terminal emulation for WiFi network development.

ODBC, SQL, and HTML support for connections to databases and external systems.

The RF-TP™ software provides a client-server architecture for hand help computer applications to run over a TCP/IP radio network. The user interface parts
(client) of the application run on the hand held computers, and the file management and external connections are supported on the Windows 95/98/NT/XP (Host) system.

System Management

Each time the operator logs the application to the TCP/IP network, the following synchronizations are automatically performed:
ΠThe hand held computer's clock is synchronized to the host PC.
The menu and screen definition files for the applications on the hand held computer are checked against those held on the RF-TP™ Host, and the latest versions downloaded as necessary.
Ž The RF-TP™ Client application, scanner and other device drivers are checked against those held on the RF-TP™ Host, and the latest versions downloaded as necessary. If any are downloaded, then the hand held computer is automatically “warm booted” to restart the application with the latest device drivers and application software.
Application specific lookup files are checked against those held on the RF-TP™ Host and the latest versions downloaded as necessary,

Messaging

Messages can be broadcast to some or all connected hand held computers.

System Monitor

The system monitor, running on the Windows 95/98/ME/NT/XP host, shows the status of all connected hand held computers, displays recent TCP/IP transactions, and summarizes system performance and activity. A record of all TCP/IP transactions can be written to a log file for error tracing.
