Product Profile

The Marietta Libraries™ product greatly reduces the effort of producing software for Symbol DOS-compatible hand held computers, such as the Symbol 3100 and 6800 units.

Both Borland and Microsoft C and C++ compilers are supported.

A full PC emulation mode allows software to be tested on the development PC.

Communications

The communications manager makes data transfers easy. High level APIs handle access to Symbol's drivers for XModem, YModem, Kermit, ASCII and TwoWay3000.

A complete session with a Procomm host can be as little as four lines of program code!

Spectrum 24 ®

The Spectrum 24 API interfaces with LAN Workplace for client-server TCP/IP applications using our RF-TP™ software.

Entry and Review

Full support of Data Entry and Review mode simplifies creation of complex programs.

Data Entry mode is the phase when new records are added to the data collection file. Review mode is the phase, available from within Data Entry mode, where prior entries can be reviewed, changed and/or deleted.

Database

The database APIs within the Marietta Libraries ™ product support compact ISAM lookup files and hierarchical data collection files.

The fields within these files are defined in data dictionaries.

Data Dictionaries

Each field within the database is described in the data dictionary. This keeps the nature and format of a field independent of the C/C++ program code.

Dictionary information includes size, type, location, entry mask, validation, scan types, format, file lookups and check-digits. Dictionaries can also be established for ASCII-type files, PDF-417 labels, and xBase files.
